Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

All done

The U.S. Department of Justice has settled its lawsuit challenging server maker Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE.N), opens new tab all-cash acquisition of Juniper Networks (JNPR.N), opens new tab for $14 billion, according to court filings.

The settlement requires the combined company to divest HPE's Instant On wireless networking business and license the source code for Juniper's Mist AI software used in Juniper's WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) products.

@g6 Enterprise with about 100 accounts. Roughly 15% of the account list is existing customers and the rest white space. I know there is at least one Aruba rep in territory currently. I don’t think there are any Juniper reps other than a SLED rep. Small to mid-sized market covering about half of a state.

@fm It really depends on where you are interviewing-enterprise, cloud, or SP. If enterprise, what does the geography look like? How many other JNPR and HPE reps are in territory? Also, most of the new enterprise roles include a large, if not 100% white space account list l. If that's the case, run the other way. Post acquisition account shuffling victories will likely depend on the management teams that remain. When HPE acquitted Aruba, Aruba management took over, and the Aruba sales teams acquired all of the best accounts and legacy HPE reps headed for the door

@ae I don’t read it that way at all. Says they have to auction a license for the source code to the highest bidder. HPE is divesting a business unit.

I will say I’m a little shocked they’d agree to even licensing the code though. Too much money I suppose at risk I suppose.

@aj Is there now any need for the jnpr enterprise sales organization? It was going to be ugly for that group even before the Mist spin out. If you go back to an early interview with Neri regarding overlap, he stated Aruba was enterprise and juniper more commercial. Id love to here some of the BS being spewed over the next several weeks for jnpr sales leadership....think Baghdad bob

For those curious to read the actual stipulations. It really seems they are ki-ling the golden goose - auctioning off the Mist cloud and sending away engineers and sales personnel to work for the highest bidder. A tragic end to a great platform.

Summer is officially ruined. So when does the close day 1 happen? 60 days after the court signs this order?
