Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

Recent Private Matter

I was recently se-----y as--ulted at the work place and it really is impacting me mentally.

I never thought I would say it. But #meToo.

I’m not sure where else to post this. I am afraid that reporting this to the HR would cause me to lose my job because of how much nepotism posts I have seen here.

Does anyone know what I should do? I don’t have any evidence but it has made it very hard.

Lots of good advice here but I wanted to say, I believe you. Many others will as well. And, I’m really, truly so sorry that happened to you. You should be able to expect to be safe when you go to work.

You need to get a recording device that you carry around with, can even be your phone If you put the right app on there, and record the next time they make an appropriate advances. It's important to have proof that they get yourself a very good liar who specializes in se..ual harassment in the workplace and cash yourself out.

I hope this person gets what's coming to him! I will assume that this individual is in a leadership role, and who knows if there are others he may have done the same to. This is really sad that people don't’ know how to keep their hands to themselves!!

@nn good. You should file a police report. There is also a cover-up from one of the RVP’s out east for inappropriately touching a SDR/BDR girl at one of the SKO’s a couple years ago. All the executives know about it too. Clearly people here have a problem with boundaries.

DO NOT go to HR unless you need to legally protect yourself because your job is at immediate risk, Five9 HR is a skeleton crew that keeps their job by siding and protecting VPs and upper management. HR will work against you and side with your managers and they will find an excuse to fire you, even if you are a stand up guy reporting valid concerns and problems. Find a new job instead, or move to another team. I experienced these behaviors personally multiple times, even a previous HR director was fired for reporting sketchy behaviors about the VP of voice last year. HR is not there to protect you, and remember, if you complain about your boss you boss can legally turn around and fire you on the spot.

You should consult a lawyer, as you are right about reporting it to HR, There are many cases where folks who reported issues to HR around harassment and racism among things were carefully removed between layoffs. HR is meant for the company not employees no matter how much they smile and say otherwise.

From folks who care, sorry that happened to you and hopefully you will find a way to navigate through this.
