Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Cascade 2

Cascade 1 seems to have had unexpected outcomes - some excellent GPs being let go while some lousy GPs being retained and/or promoted. I wonder if those decisions were based on “protecting your friends” as opposed to truly assessing on capability.

I also wonder if that will be the criteria for cascade 2. Irrespective of how capable you are, you might get laid off unless you are in the good books of a GP or Director. That would be totally against the spirit of reimagine.

That’s always been the case. My GP once said 99% of his career progression relied on high EQ and relationship skills.

It's always been true that brown-nosing had been the path to promotion at Edward Jones. The game has changed now so the penalty for not kissing *** is termination rather than a career plateau.

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Always has been.
