If def met leadership remains untouched or unaffected then some bigger questions need to be asked and looked into
It is not just DefMet. If you go to the AZ site, depending on the day you may see other traders, for example an engineer whose screen is set to a really warm color temperature (real orange) who trades all the time. It is funny though because if these people were good at trading then they wouldn't need to go to work. In fact, to layoff team while you are on it, there is a manager who used to sit in passdown all the way in the back of the fab meeting rooms and look at po-n. Also there is another manager who frequents political sites all the time and would get into arguments with other coworkers over politics. Intel, I know you keep DNS traffic logs so don't say you can't find these people if you really wanted to. If you can't do this how do you expect to stop the Chinese spies from exfiltrating your IP's. Also what good is a company that is positioning itself as a "data" or "AI" company if it can't detect and take actions on these patterns?
@dg Yes, DefMet is no different than many TD groups, which were vastly overstaffed in the race to 18A.
Win or lose, the 18A race is done and so many of these people will now be promoted to customer.
This was the bloated epicenter put in place to execute PG's vision, and at light speed
@da That is the meme, a bunch of lazy, bored technicians soaking up cafe food and drink.
DefMet is not a meme, it is just that they are overstaffed so the bored technicians idle in the cafeteria surfing the web and posting on sites like this.
LBT has a cure for this, which is to promote them to customer.
Honestly, that team probably should’ve been swapped out a while ago. Just the fact they’ve dropped the ball on their core responsibilities and let bad builds slip through—that alone should’ve been a dealbreaker. But then you pile on all the shady behind-the-scenes stuff? Kinda wild they’re still standing, let alone untouched. Word is they’re pulling in solid pay too, more than others doing similar work. It’s just… odd they’ve managed to stay as-is all this time.
Most usefull to least usefull grade 7+ engineers in fab:
- Module engineers that attend FTs
- Yield Analysis
- DefMet
- Device performance
- TMI ??
- 🐒
- 🪿
- Integration
Defect metrology
@ax Thickness Measurement Inquest
Is the true meaning of “TMI” in the DefMet context too much information to share?
I believe my comment on TMI was downvoted - but seriously folks they just show charts that AI can do. DefMET work translates into profit for Intel. They should by the kings !
They day trade on site during working hours
Defmet is responsible for monitoring the manufacturing process, e.g. checking for defects, making sure materials are the right thickness, etc. They tell the different modules in the factory like litho, etch when their process su-ks. They aren't responsible for telling you what to do in your module to fix it.
Intel's process su-ks, that's why the company is failing. Def met tells the modules they su-k and they dont like that because then they get in trouble woth their GL's and have to work past 5 pm to fix a problem.
In othwr words, Def met is a narc and no one likes a snitch
Chuck Norris joke shows you're old and outdated, just like Intel and its tech.
When Def Met comes into a room, Chuck Norris opens the door for them
DefMet leaders are active in the gym in RA4 - don't drop the soap.
The opposite of DefMET is the TMI team - no you would be thinking, who are they ? Yes, exactly ;)
DefMet are the gods of the fab.
If DefMet has a million worshippers, I am one of them.
If DefMet has ten worshippers, I am one of them.
If DefMet has no worshippers, that means I am no more on the Earth.
If the world is against DefMet, I am against the world.
I love DefMet until my last breath.
