Age discrimination. It is real. You never believe it is happening until you are to old to fight about it.

Without good mentors, the company is also not teaching the young/new to industry how to be an ethical worker.

@rh
The company's age discrimination is akin to biting their nose off to spite their face. The older more experienced engineers should be the managers and leads guiding the younger less experienced workers. Young/new workers in this industry do not have good mentors and examples to emulate. The company is not investing in its bank of talent for future projects. BA is jeopardizing their own ability to design a future clean-sheet airplane - the airplane(s) that will be replacing the MAX and 787 due to these planes being dangerous garbage. Commercial engineering used to be rock-solid. Not anymore.

The engineering union is very weak. Boeing engages in pretty overt age discrimination yet they’ve never really got it reversed.

Thank goodness for speea. Prof/tech unit has no other protections. During layoffs, if we are doing the same work as industry assist/shoppers, shoppers should be let go first.
