So, what’s the takeaway from the last works council meeting? As expected, they’re overpromising that everything’s over and yet, that same afternoon, someone was let go. So, what’s the real takeaway here?

It seems that kurzarbeit is on the way. Prepare yourself…
The cuts are coming for sure. The field techs need to be prepared to hand back the company cars!
Celle management & workers council is cutting the very branch they’re sitting on, soon they will realize the consequences of their actions.. let’s see how long this facility will last..
At the moment, Celle management and the workers’ council are playing a dirty game. It’s high time to brush up your skills and update your CV and be ready when your turn. It’s the sad truth, but unavoidable in the near future. To me the Celle management has something to hide, they may have possibly inflated previous quarter results and now scrambling to make up for it, seemingly with the silent approval of the workers’ council. Let’s see how long they can carry on this game before upper management or the authorities take notice and expose their actions..
A search through previous posts regarding other sites should tell you all you need to know.
Sadly Celle will join the rest of the sites that are being subject to Death by a Thousand Cuts, where a steady trickle of ‘ghost’ redundancies becomes the norm, & where work packages are relocated to cheaper sites.
During this process communication will be cut, with site Management being drip fed the minimum of information required to carry out the process, & the Works Council being given even less than them.
Hopefully it will not take long for the good people in Celle to understand exactly what the Baker Hughes Senior Management think of them.
If you feel left in the dark, & haven't a clue what's going on, it's because that's the way they like it.
Time to polish up the CV’s - Auf Wiedersehen.
It’s a pity you wasted your time attending that meeting. According to internal info, layoffs hasn’t even properly started yet. What we’re seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg - massive layoffs are on the way, even within the social systems (where the so-called works council also gets a say 😂). More voluntary exits and more people will disappear without a trace… I honestly have no clue what’s going on…
When they install the "new" showers... you might want to check that they are using water pipes no gas pipes.... those Germans have a history.
