Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The mighty PG just can’t get enough attention

Given he ran Vmware into the ground as well, guy would be hiding in a bunker. Is there a mental health test as part of CxO recruiting?

At least Pat lets us WFH for as long as he was CEO. This WAS a priceless Perk worth more than gold. He drove Intel into the ground. Andy Grove is turning in his grave if he sees Intel on the brink of bankruptcy due Pat’s misdirection as its false messiah.

Pat was actually decent. Said some things he shouldn't have. Got too aggressive on the expansion, but I believe he really wanted to save Intel. At least he didn't spend the entire R&D budget in buybacks at over 3x current share price like Swan and the a--hole before him did.

One skill I picked up in my years at Intel was the ability to sniff out bullsh-tters. After seeing him talked just the first few weeks into his CEO tenure-ship, I knew Pat was a bullsh-tter right away. The fact that many people at Intel either didn't or chose to believe him showed that many either drank the kool-aid hard or of the same ilks. To which I say, you deserve what you get.

You mean he wasn't allowed to keep torching billions of cash every quarter with no plans for getting a return on it? While getting paid like $20M a year in t-comp? Yeah I'd love to stick around and wreck things too. I can collapse this company for a fraction of that amount of compensation.

He does have a point. If he stayed and , he may have finished Intel by now.

@OP He's not wrong. If he'd finished what he'd started, Intel would be entirely out of business.

Pat’s weekly speech in Circuit made me sick after a few weeks he became CEO. Worst CEO.

Not a psychologist or psych-anything here..
However, listening to Pat over many years even back during his 1st stint at INtel, there were always signs of narcissism or other sketchy behaviors.. now mix in some potential dementia at his age perhaps, you wonder why he can't read the room and quietly disappear into his retirement?

After all, he was very instrumental in destroying 2 companies both VMWare and Intel.
Not to say he was the sole destructor, but his leadership was pivotal in both spaces.
