Not so long ago I could put up with a lot of management nonsense because I was working with some really great people who knew what they were doing. Now I am surrounded by the incompetence of the BTC and Contractors that have also gone all in on using HVEC employees. It has turned an enjoyable job into he-l.

In the same vein, those of us still around are no longer the best and brightest ourselves.
Only bout buddies and the latest big project.
Just wait. First it’s farming out jobs to overseas for engineering and in 3 years it’ll be AI in a chat box with all centralized support at best. My advice is get a trade where you work with your hands, we’re heading to Idiocracy
Many, many technical people feel like the OP now. What attracted us to EM was exactly this, the reputation of working with the best, and once in having this confirmed.
However, the complete change in the company culture, the lack of people investment, sustainment and continuity, means the company has now tended to mediocrity, in line with the majority of the industry.
It’s clear that EM is no longer a place to work with the best, like most other places it's mediocrity through and through. As highlighted, it makes the work environment uninspiring and dragging. No role models or things to strive for are left.
I've got interviews this week....Time to GTFO if you can find another job.
