Search made itself irrelevant by promoting content written by bots. Equally bad- all that agentic-written cr-p is still getting crawled and used to train AI.
AI can certainly tell what was written by bots. Seems like that should be filtered out or at least weighted lower than human-generated content.
I'd rather suffer hallucinations than advertisements presented as top search results.
Much like the progress from phone directories to web page lists then to search engines.
AI is replacing and will replace Google's current search format.
Observe how younger people use the technology and the writing is on the wall already.
The company that has most data on people relating to Email, Search, Shopping, Interests, Phone, Mapping is unable to compete with GenAI companies out there. what a joke.
