There will be additional layoffs as soon as possible. Boeing must cut the work force to save money.

The decision has changed and more layoffs will happen much sooner. There is no other choice.
Boeing layoffs are not geared primarily toward reducing the workforce.
The primary goal is to layoff older employees who have been there longer and are paid more and replacing them in six months with young employees with little experience are coming at the bottom of the pay scale.
That’s why any type of economic slow down and any kind of accident, etc. is always an excuse to lay people off.
If you follow the other aerospace companies, no one else really does this except for Boeing
They will need to hire more workers. That is a true fact to build aircraft. Reason do the math , you hire 10 people ,train them and let them fly. Out of the 10 three are on FLA , 3 worked at Burger King and bring zero to aircraft manufacturing and 2 are losers. That leaves you with two workers. Normal Boeing hiring practices and you have them for life.
They think they can get rid of thousands of engineers with automation and templates, etc. seems like they tried something similar before didn’t really pan out, but the big wigs love the idea of laying off engineers
Layoffs should occur with IT departments, accounting departments, and HR departments. They do not make any money. We need more manufacturing people.
Fake news for now…let’s see what happens with the Air India investigation, if it’s Boeing then people will probably be going
Boeing trying to hire tons of new people for IAM jobs. Just hard to attract skilled folks since Boeing's hire-in wages are so low that most skilled people can easily make more in the other unions. Boeing adding lots of heads over the next couple of years though.
Maybe both of you are correct. Layoff office workers to save overhead while hiring more factory.
Agreed- my group needs to hire. We build planes. Do not believe everything you see online, eh?
Stop spreading false news. Boeing is hiring like crazy over the next few years. For hourly jobs anyway.
