Given the poor cash flow, lenders being hesitant to loan money I just don’t think there will be any more VRP/ severance packages going forward. There just isn’t any money for that anymore unless you are in executive leadership positions and those individuals will leave with six figure deals. If you are just Management down to hourly employees you will be let go with a “Your services are no longer required” conversation. The days of paying severance to employees is long gone.

@a5 doesn’t matter, if severance has been offered to other employees recently, anyone else layed off also by law gets the same severance.
Exactly, everyone laid off today received a severance package. Also, in NJ it's the law that they have to pay severance for every year an employee worked. Doesn't apply to other states tho.
The people layed off today did receive severance. 2 weeks for every year, so any one that gets the ax will get the same.
