Thread regarding Connecticut layoffs

For now, education jobs in Connecticut are safe!!!

Connecticut has scored a win in court over federal layoffs.

A U.S. District Court in Massachusetts blocked the Trump administration’s plan to dismantle the Department of Education. The court issued a preliminary injunction. It requires the government to reinstate all employees who were laid off as part of the plan.

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong led the charge. He joined 20 other state attorneys general in the lawsuit. Tong called the layoffs “a lawless political attack” on students and schools. He said the fight isn’t over and promised to stay in court as long as it takes.

The blocked layoffs are part of a broader national pattern. States are pushing back against federal workforce cuts. For now, education jobs in Connecticut are safe.

More legal action could follow in other sectors.
