Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I recently decided to quit on my own

RTO was the tipping point. I really did try, for a while at least. But spending three hours commuting every day quickly convinced me it just didn’t make sense. That’s three hours of my life I could’ve spent earning money or actually living. So I chose not to wait for the next round of layoffs, I just quit. I picked up a part-time job to bridge the gap, and surprisingly, I’m actually enjoying myself. I’m sure the real drama will start when it’s time to look for something more permanent - but for now, I honestly don’t care.

I can see where the 3 hours may be real. I've heard that they make the assessment regardless of rush hour conditions. Basically, calculate whatever the time and distance is like there is no traffic.

"If this is true then why have several members of my team been reprimanded for not being on the office for their full shift every day?"

it's up to management whether they impose their own requirements

JC thanks you for your compliance to his goals. One severance package he didn't have to pay out.

Why would you commute 3 hours a day? You qualify to work at home. I doubt this post is real.

Huh? There are no minimum hours or days required. I can't even imagine how you functioned before the pandemic.

Just do your commuting while on the clock like many of us do.

I don't care either but I am collecting the paycheck for as long as I can. I am trying to see how long it'll be before they realize I have given up. I will keep it stretched as long as I possibly can as I am "all in", per JC.
