@a2 layoffs would not be necessary if the ELT and board had done their jobs for the past 15 years. The same leaders you now praise are part of the problem. Being part of the problem they are unable to admit or acknowledge that their actions have contributed to the present situation of the company.

As an employee in the line of fire this round (3 in 3 years) this is absurd. The good ones are getting out as fast as they can. You know the analogy, “like rats from a sinking ship”.

I was exempted from the past 2 layoffs and would happily taken the last round package, but was not able to. Intel has been such a disappointment as an employer. No real raises since starting 3 years ago. The “Total Compensation” aka “T-Comp” is a fu--ing joke and a lie. No one in their right mind will come to this place.

LBT better get this ship sorted out or this company will be the IBM, HP, Motorola, or Compaq of the mid 2020’s. Sadly the job market for engineer is not like it was even 20 years ago. So many people are impacted because of the ELT and Board su-ked at their jobs for the past 15 years or more.

PS. It takes at least 5 years to take a chip from concept to market. And Intel has missed the boat for 15 - 20 years. So as an employee, go fu-k yourself.

@a2 its doublespeak

  • its not challenges, its failed vision and leadership resulting in losing money directly.
  • "empowering our engineers" intel has the worst, laziest, overpaid engineers anywhere and half have never been in a fab to see a machine in person.
  • The last part is just fluff BS

To put it in perspective this is the same executive who (in the middle of one of their countless letters from Scout Camp) found it appropriate to grimly scold the audience on a nominal increase in reportable RSIs (after breezily issuing their condolences to the family of an employee who got themselves squished by a forklift) in the same paragraph.

Were David Lynch still with us, he would have a field day with what this company has become.

Yeah i don't miss all the double-speak and word-salads that Intel execs, their chiefs-of-staff, and HR/Legal come up with during the layoffs to appease the sheeple who have to work there..
Always amazed at their hubris.
