Not layoffs, just replacing American employees with people in India and Colombia.

Two years ago it was WE’RE FLATTENING THE MIDDLE LAYERS and SAVING BY REMOVING REDUNDANCY.

Now it’s twice as bloated with twice as many overpaid (p)sycophants. Brilliant strategy.

The recent round of layoffs, particularly within the Quality Engineering (QE) department, has unfortunately exacerbated an already top-heavy organizational structure, leading to a situation where the company is now even more encumbered by a disproportionate number of senior roles. Instead of addressing the bloat at the higher echelons, the cuts seem to have disproportionately affected individual contributors, leaving a top-heavy command chain with fewer hands on deck to execute. A more strategic approach might have involved critically evaluating the necessity of numerous QE director positions, or even the QE head, before impacting the crucial engineering talent responsible for the actual work, thereby creating a leaner, more efficient, and less top-heavy organization.
