RAT

What would cause RAT to deploy this early during takeoff? It doesn't make sense. I know its engine or hydraulics-related, but wouldn't we have some sort of warning during pre -flight check if something was so bad.

Usually, complex problems have a lot of different inputs. Possible inputs:

  1. Potential malfunctions in the GE engines' computer systems (likely referring to the Electronic Engine Controls or EECs).
  2. Possible Electrical Failure: One theory being explored is a potential electrical failure affecting the Variable Frequency Starter Generators (VFSGs), which provide power and start the engines. If these failed, they could have disabled the EECs, making it impossible for the pilots to increase thrust.
