for a VP role. It's related to data. But going by the comments here, it seems like State Street is a dumpster fire..no different than my current firm. Don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire....go through the interview and decide what to do if or when an offer comes?

Thnaks to all those who gave advice. I didn't get the role. I know I'm supposed to read this board with a pinch of salt (maybe a sack?), but I can't help feel that maybe that isn't such a bad thing.
@1ag+1jxwzs6r8 the role was related to data on some financial reports
In the event you get the offer and you are not happy where you are currently, take it and gain the experience. You reference it is a data related role which wouldn't be data center these days. I am assuming it is Data Analytics related. Advise is get the compensation you aim for before you accept and know that raises and bonus are quite often absent, minimal and/or decline each year. Longer term you should expect that 3-5 years from getting in the door you will likely be a candidate for the State Street layoff process which is now the norm. Keep your opportunity eye open. Good luck.
@OP No jobs at State Street are long term. If you accept the job, find out where @aw+1jxwzs6r8 lives so you can personally thank him for his advice. After a couple of years, the company will terminate you. Make sure to thank @aw+1jxwzs6r8 again for their horrible advice
Just say no
Interview is scheduled. Although I don't know if they already have someone internally lined up and just need to go through some interviews to tickmark compliance checkbox
Useless roles ? Funny I worked in their Data Center for 23 years before they outsourced it. Yes all talented workers who saw their jobs outsourced in the Data Centers.

Go for it. You will get a front row seat.
I would not look for guidance here when you are interviewing for State Street or any other companies at thelayoff.com. Use Glassdoor for a more balanced view and feedback.
Take the job if you want it. I’m not sure the grass is greener wherever you go. We commiserate here. Agree with the previous person. Take it with a grain of salt.
Take the comments here with a grain of salt. Most are just being bi--hy about the company because they are in useless roles with low wages and they keep expecting to get laid off. State Street North America has a headcount of almost 12,000 and only a handful of people post here.
