Walmart has been systematically replacing US skilled tech workers with less qualified H1B workers since at least 2011. However, most people don’t realize they were reaching out to companies like Deloitte since at least 2006 to determine how to outsource IT. For most of those tech workers recently replaced by H1B workers, you did not deserve it, you did nothing wrong, and you were not replaced with a more highly skilled employee. You were replaced by a foreign wage slave who was pushed due to discriminatory policies that corporations like Walmart and pro India groups use to pressure our government to improve the Indian economy, with no concern for US workers or the US economy.

Class action will do nothing. Walmart has lawyers out the wazzoo to deal with lawsuits.
If it got out in the press about how many American jobs were sent to Bangalore or eliminated and then given to H1B workers…. That might cause change.
Yes, no doubt ageism is a concern with Walmart now. It wasn’t always like that, but it is now.
As we’ve gotten further and further away from Sam’s death and the way the Walton family took a step back from day to day operations, it should be no surprise that the entire company focus is financial in nature. Make more. Reduce more. Deinvest in “in house”technology and outsource that to others. Utilize the H1B process to the max.
H1B visa abuse happens by few leaders. Ppl are talked badly and they aren’t able to say anything
Ageism is also an issue with Walmart. Would be interesting to do an investigation into that as well.
From a moral perspective, I would agree there should be some form of action against Walmart. Unfortunately, I think for a class action of this nature to move forward you’d have to show someone was harmed so they could have standing inside a class. Walmart is a “at will” employer and as such either they or the associate can terminate employment at any time.
But it might be interesting to peel back the onion to examine every single facet of the H1B program application and approval process, how many of those skills really aren’t available from a US worker, how the federal applications were done, who did them, what 3rd parties helped do paperwork, which labor deals were already in play with vendors, when did they start, etc. Maybe something an Inspector General’s Office should look into.
Walmart has no loyalty to associates.
