Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Are you the problem?

I am nervous about layoffs, so have been watching this site over over the last few weeks. Instead of information, all I am reading is updates from people saying that the employees at teradata are lazy, incompetent, or checked out.

I am not lazy or checked out, and believe I'm pretty competent. So, who are the problem? Don't blame our C-suite, because they're not the ones who are supposed to be frontline getting the work done - that is us.

(fu-k - "...I do NOT believe that 6 or 7 people...". Sorry, fumbled my main point)

I am OP and am definitely not C-suite. And to the last post "C-suite isn't supposed to be front line getting the work done? Are you serious?". Yes, I am serious, which is why I posted that in the first place. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

When I wrote my post, I wasn't trying to defend or attack them up there at the top, but I do believe that six or seven people are actually going to get the work done that is necessary to keep Teradata moving forward. Yes, I am serious 🤣.

I could be like you and sh1t on them all day, but I am convinced that nearly every person at Teradata knows what we need to go and do. We have something like 8,000 people here. If we all did our part, I believe we would get ahead regardless of our C-Suite.

C-suite isn't supposed to be front line getting the work done? Are you serious? Which member of the C-suite are you? The only reason you are nervous about layoffs is because you are running out of non-8utt kissers to cut.

Actually - most of the posts here clearly come from people inside the company that see the trainwreck this place has been for a couple years and is seems to be striving to be even more wreckish than ever. A CMO making bad decisions that has stacked the deck with her cronies. Inexperienced people at the top. Of COURSE there are consistent themes here, because the problems are persistent and, quite frankly, damaging to the company's future. To believe for an instant that most of these posts are from outsiders is burying your head in the sand.

I can understand where you are coming from OP. Instead of seeking solutions to the issues we have, this site is more of a blame game than individuals being accountable for their actions and their area within the company. I think we should pivot more towards the purpose of this site, formulating ideas to build a better TD to avoid potential layoffs or other impactors or maybe use some of our internal.

I do want to point something out and maybe you all have seen it too. Note that most of the posts here seem to formulate and build upon the same language, the same structure, and the same extreme message that seeks to prey on the feelings of unknown, fear, anger, and sadness. There have even been posts where they say they don't even work at TD. It is the mad ramblings of a disgruntled individual that needs help and I hope some day they can look inward and get that help. I can even bet they will say I am some HR individual when really, I am just an Engineer. I wish them luck and hope they can someday find peace

The new leadership cannot be called leaders. Certainly not servant leaders. Selfish, demanding, inexperienced, I could go on. Fine, you're inexperienced... come in with humility, come in to help, learn, grow. But to come in and demand... to have zero regard for other people's time, workload, work-life balance. Sc--w that. I'm out.

You sound like HR. Our X-Suite is utterly incompetent. Thats the reason layoffs are looming. The productivity of employees is a reflection of their leadership. And if you’ve been here more than a minute you are keenly aware of the talent drain that has taken place over the last 2.5 years. We are a shell of our former selves.
