Dell as a company is no longer, the company is a shell of itself. The flattening of the organization, ehhh.. They should have cut the overage on staff before the EMC deal is finalized. EMC was so overloaded on staff its ridiculous! It is quickly becoming EMC 2.0 POOR customer service, POOR products.
They waste crazy amounts of money on tools that do not work, do not communicate with other tools, put out training that is WORTHLESS and expect you to become experts on them. How a company got so big being run so poorly and so inefficiently is beyond me.
You have directors that pick and choose when they are in the office, although EVERYONE within the distance range is REQUIRED in office 5 days a week, Senior directors use unapproved, potentially security risk foreign based communication platforms that corporate cannot see.
They tout being an AI "leader" when they can't even use it internally correctly.
Also stated that they want to have 50 % of women as management, which is GREAT.. but the problem is they put unqualified people in management, and it hurts everyone. There was a director level woman, massively failed managing 2 separate groups/product lines, was PROMOTED after BOTH failures and is still employed.
There is no streamlined management just a bunch of left hands not knowing and working with the right.
We are going to "flatten" our organization make decision making faster, its actually having the reverse effect! And you demote managers down to individual contributors, dont change their salary/benefits etc, BUT they are still expected to perform management duties of their previous reports.
