Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

South Florida - Mass exit

The Regional President fired, Middle Market Banking leader and top MM banker resigned, Miami MP forced to resign along with 12-15 other long tenure bankers leaving in the last 12 months. Concerning for the ones of us left.. any insight??

@ak The region is losing hundreds of millions in balance sheet growth and production and a bakers dozen quality bankers have left in the past year. Probably more Bankers leaving after this mess. Not to mention the incoming runoff. Good look plugging that hole. Sure that “rebuild” will go smoothly.

Middle market team relied on Sponsors and PEGs there as it’s a unique market with lots of those. Concerns over the new sponsor coverage team at Truist being created would negatively impact their reliance on that, most middle market bankers don’t. It’s Miami LOL, the rest of Florida commercial footprint has a solid culture it sounds like for the most part. Also,
some of it was strategic and not a real loss to lose a few of them. The new state RP will rebuild it down there
