“Some clowns replying here seem to not even have read the entire article. Helen of Troy is absolutely pulling back what they are sending BBB”
I am guessing you are a clown as well since he or she didn’t say anything about pulling back but making a comment about them asking for cash up front. Plus he or she agrees with you that is game over. Just a matter of timeframe. 🤡
“Now if Helen of Troy starts demanding cash up front. I’ll be the first to say, it’s over!!!“

More layoffs are coming first week of December. That is a fact. Cleaning out the buyers this time. Over staffed and not productive. They are putting more payroll into the stores at this time of year. The buyers could not produce what they had promised with the vendors. It’s going to be a rough Q4.

I can confirm that there was another layoff today.

@ @1lyj+1jxm0apE. I can assure you people from the Yahoo convo on BBBY read this because one this AM mentioned "BBBY getting ready to lay off more today". I believe they were reading the August post about this, unless there is more info I do not know about. Enlighten me if so.

Your response does encapsulate the entire reason why people stop coming in. Bloodbath went for home runs like Dyson, Miele, etc, when it should have gone for singles like irons or gadgets that weren't made of gold like OXOs.. Great job by you! I recall when people were knocked back by the price of irons in 2019, even!

And sorry, I misspelled "anyway" but then again, I didn't not say I was a genius.

Love it when people can't spell "business" and call others geniuses. Makes my day. Completely discredits all that stuff they say. Sounds like a boot li---r ayway.

Some clowns replying here seem to not even have read the entire article. Helen of Troy is absolutely pulling back what they are sending BBB:
"Some major suppliers have continued to work with the retailer, including Helen of Troy Ltd., which owns brands including Oxo and Hydro Flask. “Regarding Oxo, we are working closely with them at the highest levels,” Helen of Troy Chief Executive Officer Julien Mininberg told analysts during an earnings call in early October. Still, the company is taking a cautious approach to the retailer. “Over the past few years, we have decreased our concentration of business with Bed Bath & Beyond and are continuing to manage our credit exposure,” Mininberg said."

Decreased concentration of business. How much more do some really need to see to realize it is game over?

Ever since hours were cut at the beginning of the year I knew something was up. As the months went by things got progressively worse and I decided that I needed to finally seek new employment and so I did. I left In October. I used to wonder why former employees would continue to participate in this forum and now I get it. It's a hard habit to break. I check this site every day looking for something new and now it's about watching this train finally crash and burn and it's so sad. It was once a great company to work for and I do believe that I've made some life long friends. It's just too bad that those in charge didn't take better care of their baby. Now they're desperate and scrambling. Everything they do now seems like a bribe to get people to shop and in the store. Dollar promos, giving away $5 to everyone who signs up for Welcome Rewards, 20-25%off entire purchases... I mean, STOP IT. It's just not good. Not wise when your company is already in trouble.

I bailed two years and took my severance package with me. OP is correct, when they file bankruptcy there will be nothing left for you. There is ZERO hope for this company!

I’m the original poster of this thread.
I’m a refugee from 1003 Vernon Hills, Illinois. Left the company in 2018 a few months after three of my managers were let go on Black Thursday. When I was taken to the side by the store manager at that time and told just show the customer where something is then walk away, don’t give too much customer service, I knew it was time to leave.
Why do I come back here? Because unfortunately I have experience working for companies that have gone bankrupt and have been run by Capital Investment firms. I try to warn you soon to be victims to get out before they lay you off or terminate your employment which is inevitable. I don’t like it when people get taken advantage of which right now those of you still working at BBBY are; by a group of people just squeezing every last penny out of this company only to kick you all to the curb like trash, and no there will be no severance regardless what you’ve been told. Once a company goes bankrupt the banks and secured creditors get paid first, there will be nothing for you.
If I were the CFO for any vender of BBBY the terms would be CIA (Cash In Advance).
My father had a great saying “Read the signs and believe them”. What are the signs telling you?

It doesn't matter what the excuses are---the stores are empty of anything customers are looking for. Rooms are dummied and every other customer asks for something we don't have. Finally, some bed pillows came in---cheap quality but at least something to fill the bins. And I can't explain about supply chain issues on more time, they don't care! These customers will not come back, does the company realize this?

Hmm... first response reads as if it were written by an investor from the Reddit Forum. It doesn't matter that Dyson, Homedics and the other name brands are "flowing in to the stores at high rates". Those items are not the basics people come into the store for. We don't have what the shopper wants!! Like irons!! We don't have irons. Ironing boards either. Not even our own in house brands. Poopourri, paper guest towels, mattress protectors other than Twin XL, bath tub mats... At least my store doesn't. We have to place online orders for that cr-p. If you don't know about the operations at the store level shut up! Nobody cares about the stock! The business is in trouble even if you think things are flowing in at high rates! And another thing, if you truly want the company to succeed and you're trying to do all your shopping at Bbby and canceling your Prime Memberships - Pay FULL price for your items. ALL OF YOU. Stop using coupons! They're a big part of the problem.

That article was written by the reporter that asked this very same community for information two months ago.

While I agree with most here about this company filing bankruptcy in 2023 and ultimately out by end of 2023. This article is such a hit piece filled with embellishments. Just small vendors who aren’t a major suppliers. Now if Helen of Troy starts demanding cash up front. I’ll be the first to say, it’s over!!!

So basically the small vendors are the smart ones and won't lose money supplying BBB with inventory that won't sell. That's what I got from all the articles I have read.

If you geniuses read who the vendors were you would recognize that they are Shark Tank suppliers that we have not done bussiness with in years. They are not major vendors. The author of the Yahoo article took bits and pieces from the Bloomberg article and left out the important information that most vendors are continuing to work with us. If you want this company to fail than why are you still here?

The vendors cited in the article have done very little business with BBB for years and are minor players in the assortment. Hardly a spike in the heart. The major vendors we had out of stocks on from last year such as Merchsource, Homedics, Dyson and Oxo are flowing in to the stores at high rates.
