So I received a phone call and email about UAB dropping UHC/UHG insurance and ending the contract. What am I gonna do now? Should I find another insurance and drop the one I have through us as an employee? And should I notify HR so they won’t take it out my paycheck anymore after July 31? And what does this means as an Optum/UHG employee? Are we going out of business and all getting laid off soon?

They usually negotiate the contract at the last minute

This person is talking about University of Alabama @Birmingham Medical facility and physicians. It’s a major transplant and cancer treatment center. This facilty hasn’t been par with UHC for the MA product for years. The contract for commercial comes up every three years. They fight it out and then sign at the last minute.
Guessing they're talking about the hospital in Birmingham? No clue. Acronym enthusiasts are a long-running problem at this company.
First off what the heck is UAB? Second… chicken little much? Going out of business? Lmao
