So, now they want us to carry around documents commonly found in a safe on our person if we don't have a real ID (SS Card, Passport, etc) so, we can gain access to government buildings.
They had years to tell us that this was being a job requirement but, they wait until the law goes into effect to tell us to get a real id. Smh
I bet 95% of the contractor work force isn't even eligible for a real id.
What’s next take a safe and effective fix to help others oh they already tried that, take a yearly dr-g test for a certain section of workers (dot) even though we don’t fall under that criteria stop giving these clowns excuses to make it easy to get rid of us, they are doing a good job of that anyway
@hb the issue with a state issued drivers license is if its not REAL ID compliant, its not valid for federal purposes including air travel. The REAL ID act has been a law since 2005, but has been postponed annually. Now its in effect.
Yes, technicians go into military and federal facilities daily. Lets see, there's Fort Sill, Dyess AFB, Cannon AFB, the Presidio, several Coast Guard bases. Not to mention various FBI, BLM, USPS, Customers, ICE, US Fish and Wildlife and Border Patrol offices.
And yes - every other company out there has to abide by the REAL ID act, so yes, their people all have the same requirement.

This is just another attempt by Altice to bully us into a situation where they can rid themselves of in-house technicians.

To ensure full compliance, all technicians must obtain a REAL ID or EDL within 6 months of the notice - by December 5, 2025. If you do not currently have one, please begin the process as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in completing you job responsibilities.
We are also updating all job descriptions to reflect this requirement. Moving forward, newly hired team members will need to present a REAL ID or obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
