I heard almost the entire CBS News graphics department was eliminated. Does anyone know if this is true/accurate?

Yes, that is true. They created a "Graphics Hub" scenario with only 6-7 people, like NBC did a number of years ago. Just about all Designers, Art Directors and the Creative Director are gone. Writers and producers create "graphics" by slapping a piece of video in a hole in a template, and change the weak typeface to the specified wording. Looks pathetic.
Last place news for years and years - get rid of the network anchors making a ton of money for decreasing viewership. I don't know who even watches local news but they have high priced anchors too. Social media has at least replaced local news, no reason to watch news for traffic & weather & sports - get rid of all those people
