Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

the terrible leader exchange

our manager just got sidelined for no reason whatsover, he was leading one of the most used product under Dell Digital. and the new leader that's replacing them is no good at all and no history of leading good products.. infact they all kinda died, so how does this make any sense ?

The new guy/gal has better connections. It‘s all about your network

Leaders like pq who have no understanding of sales or the division he manages.. he thinks it's like selling a mouse and keyboard. And while he works from home gets on calls from home, just a micro manager who is far from reality of how sales are done . Showing double standards

It’s puzzling leaders like sudhir are out and keep the clowns

At Dell, meritocracy is absent, replaced by a culture of cronyism and favoritism. Individuals with no experience rapidly climb the ranks, moving between roles every six months without qualifications. Some switch positions six times in four years, lacking expertise, acting arrogantly, and undermining motivated team members out of insecurity. Despite mandatory ethics training, the company’s practices contradict its preached values. Meanwhile, dedicated employees with strong performance metrics (CSAT, DSAT, KPIs) remain stuck in the same roles for decades, unable to advance. This is not right.

Recognizing this, I scaled back my ambitions at Dell, focusing solely on performing my job well without expecting career growth. I have been utterly repulsed by the pervasive corporate culture and its foundational principles, which foster a ruthless, compassionless environment where individuals are pitted against one another in a relentless, cutthroat struggle for survival and success, resembling a merciless dog-eat-dog world.

The more toxic the leader the more they thrive in the current cesspool. And bad leaders are very good at one thing: reducing head count.

That’s Dell for you… trash the great people, uplift the sh---y people. Lack of talent and kissing a-s can take you very far surprisingly.
