Thread regarding Twitter layoffs

Slack records being archived

Heads up that all email and Slack communications have been archived to be leveraged as cause for termination to evade “layoffs” pertaining to the WARN act. This doesn’t bother me personally, but it’s going to be rough for a lot of my arrogant colleagues that couldn’t keep their mouths shut. Btw, if your position is safe, you likely already know.

Today you will either be terminated for cause (poor job performance) or you will be laid-off which is your WARN notice and you will get your severance if you sign. If you don’t sign, you opt out of severance and have the option to file a wrongful termination lawsuit- good luck with that.

All the comments about evading warn are hilarious. People can be fired for cause (performance).

Not that the cat is out and musk announced mass layoffs, they will let people know they are being let go and give them 60 more days of employment. No way are people going around saying your last paid day is today.

Firing with cause supersedes the WARN act, which is a ridiculous law anyway. Guarantee they prove cause for each individual let go, including cause for redundancy.

Yeah, never smart to use company resources for personal business.

With that being said he definitely violated WARN but they may just pay 60 days pay and call it a day.
