All of y’all who have posted about getting 20% more at a new company where are you applying? Because I think it’s a bunch of bs. I have a masters degree and what I get paid now it’s the most I’ll get plus a nice PTO package, I hate to say it but other companies don’t give as much PTO as UHG or as much bereavement time, they may give better bonuses but the pay is way below market value to begin with so in the end it’s just catching up to the pay I have now. . . I do get private health care my SO pays for which is ridiculously cheaper than any plan Optum/ UHG offered and covers more as well so I know that’s a factor in the amount I see in my paychecks, but I know it’s time to jump ship, but with the price increase due the government being a joke and food cost I can’t afford to take a cheaper paying job. It just su-ks, I know so many others who are stuck here because they can’t afford to take anything less than what they make now and they’ve moved up within the company and got trained by the company and don’t necessarily have the education required to transfer to another job.

@bf I mean PTO matching doesn't matter much when you're coming from Optum/UHG, we have some dogshit PTO. Funny seeing the president whine about Juneteenth when we here didn't even get that day off yet offshore gets a bank holiday every other week.
Good engineers can easily get 20-40% increase in total compensation. Optum give tiny 10k RSUs and only to some people. Meanwhile I know people that do less work than me at other companies getting about $220k as a senior engineer. It’s a tough market right now to get a new job but they are out there.
I am a nurse as well. I left Optum before Optum. Let me go. I’m earning $14,000 more year. I work for a privately owned sniff organization. I feel valued. I feel wanted and appreciated and I wouldn’t have it any other way goodbye large corporations I won’t be coming back

I was laid off and am a RN. I worked very hard for my pay and when applied for another role with company and offered much less. Slap in my face. It is rough out here.
@ef Nice one Nico, banged enough bosses now you’re off to watch some of your team perform? Sick.
I love the 'Only F@ns' post. Nice shooting Tex :)
To he-l for being a part of such a corrupt machine.

I’m going to Disney World.
I just started a new job and got a 35% salary increase. Flexible PTO policy (aka unlimited PTO. That is new to me, we will see how that goes. ). Also a sense of normalcy - have a scope of work, no toxicity, no sense of doom etc. I can’t give the company name because then I wouldnt be anonymous but its still
In healthcare (tech specifically).
I worked at Optum for 4 years before recently. Optum does not pay that well.
Apply like it’s your full time job, there are things out there. I promise.
(And to answer a recent question posted here in advance- I still come to this board even though I just left simply because I can! ;-P )
I got laid off last fall and applied and interviewed for jobs like my life depended on it. I got a job for a software company and I make roughly 20% more than what I made at Optum. I was very underpaid at Optum for the work I did, so 20% increase was what I should have been making. I'm much happier, work 9-5 remotely and no more stress. The jobs are out there, you have to be one of the first few that apply as well.
Most companies will match the pto policy if you negotiate.
