Thread regarding Twitter layoffs

Will Twitter continue to fail after these cuts?

Or not? Thoughts?

All you have to do is look at the current hilarious conversations on Twitter, watch users leave, and Elon freaking out that he now has to break his own 'rules' to stay sane. Grab some popcorn and the movie of a child billionnaire trying to control 'free' speech goes nuts and he successully and with few remaining staff- ki--s Twitter.

Given Musk has not run Twitter before, I strongly doubt how he knows which one should go and which one to stay?

If he lays off key staff but retain people who know nothing about work but share same fantasies with him, you know .....

Twitter is a simple social media and like many others in the past and present is destined to fail

This is the typical change curve that is motion. Elon thinks big, takes a lot risks and that could be good for Twitter and a windfall for all the employees that survived. Is there a risk for failure? Sure there is but one of the greatest innovators of our time just took the helm.

Yeah but Craigslist is written in Unix C CGI, with minimal CSS and lots of HTML, and some MySQL. You could conceivably run that with 10 people. Monolithic. They never heard of microservices.

No one is irreplaceable. And Twitter has a lot of bloat. For comparison Craigslist is run by 50 people and provides much more service to humanity.
