I am a SWE working on AirWatch. Not sure if I am safe.

You don’t need innovation in a private equity style company, all you need is a product that is hard to replace and you are set to milk the customers by increasing prices and decreasing development/support.
Stop looking at this from some silly Silicon Valley software developer innovation mindset, think like a financial engineer.
As such, you can get rid of lots of employees everywhere and turn those that remain into drone employees that keep the lights on until there is no more milk in the cow.
Then you buy a new cow.

Agree MSFT to going to eat VMware in the UEM space. There is no innovation that is going to save if it. EUC folks need to wake up and realize the reality.
Exactly this. The source of that product still being unable to compete with Intune is because they have been able to get away as if they were their own little startup still with DaddyWares money.
You are still calling it AirWatch. You will definitely be laid off.
We can only hope EUC gets sold off. He-l, I bet VMW may even pay someone to take EUC. If I had to pick a movie to describe the intelligence of that org, it'd be "Radio".
I have heard rumors of AWS being interested in EUC that being said it is just rumors. If you do not feel comfortable staying because of a layoff or spin off and have another offer go for it.
if you are an individual contributor you are as safe or unsafe as anybody. we have no idea what criteria they will use for layoffs. seniority? job skill? hair color? no one knows so stop asking.
Sigh, this type of post again?
Folks, please stop meaningless posts
