BNSF gearing up for furloughs in TY&E

Last of All three man crews with a brakeman eliminated this month, ready to work boards activated, and company has put out displaced employees will have ability to excercise seniority rights, like people didn’t already know that, but when the company puts it out as a statement, it’s a tell tell sign. BNSF is staging, hence all the new hire conductors, while suing the FRA under the AAR in the 11th circuit of appeals to eliminate 2 man crews. Posturing to massively cut the workforce and an attempt to get ahead of media firestorm. They did the same thing in mechanical a year and a half ago when the company hired a ton of laborers under the guise of laborers taking over service racks and daily inspections, but then furloughed every one of them less than a year later along with 362 other mechanical positions. Dispatchers, chiefs, and trainmasters are already being trimmed in multiple locations, with the word being that a single chief will be responsible for multiple existing locations, while taking on the responsibilities of a dispatcher through the utilization of the through point planner, and all but eliminating dispatchers all together. I figure K.F. is going to sign off on one more huge cut before taking over the board of directors for American Airlines on June 11th, 2025
