Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Layoff layoff layoff

You get a layoff, you get a layoff, we all know this place is a $#!+ show. I and other have be warning about pending layoffs now here it is china has been affected. Next is US. Jim Ryan's Ryanstones is doing the only he knows, layoff like he did at pwc. No innovation and he certainly doesn't have the skill set for IT yet alone business of a big bank. Secret meetings have been happening for month 2 month at MDD level with hr and also legal. US lists will be finalized this week of who will be laid off, which will happen now until end of July but not August as soon as legal signs of for the US tech sector this week. Many will be affected from uspb tech, wealth and so on brace yourself. Notice will soon be noticed by there MD or D. If on leave of anything thank your stars you are safe for this round at least. Rumblings have been happening, for a while. Also if your a low performance please get read because your mdd will be documenting that on your mid years as a way to PIP you out of a Job come December when another cut will happen. Hr has basically told every MDD to serious document for mid years so they have an excuse and document trail for end of year reviews and justification to pip you or you get no bonus or raise. So July and then again December end year time frame. There will be around 500 or so cut from each US tech area, weather be it PB, wealth, etc. Engineers heavily impacted as well as testing groups and compliance. Here's to everyone getting a decent package and enjoying summer vacations. And saying good bye to this God awful place and getting a higher paying job else where.

@OP The reason for the layoff is now attributed by the leadership to geopolitical factors rather than their own efficiency.

@ak Citi can avoid severance packages when PIPs are involved. Plus, PIPs scare people into leaving on their own. It is all about cost savings now.

Roses are red, and China was “fine,”
Till 3,500 got cut at the spine.
You said, “That’s a rumor,” a nothingburger,
But turns out the butcher was Jane, not a lurker.

How can post be ai generated with all the grammar issues. Probably a laid of employee warning people. Add me to lay off list too. A lot of people are ready to go. Not just layoff but also reorgs, md has mentioned before they will be shifting different people different places. Still doesn't help, the work load is going to get crazy in coming months.

This article is riddled with factual and grammatical errors. The author should be fired, not laid off.

Nah, no need to PIP when you can just RIF! Too much effort when you can push the available easy button. This post smells.
