@147 ok defender of JH. Not attacking him just not that impressed with him or any of the SLT and their dismissal of good people who worked hard and brought value only to ensure they pad the profits for themselves with no conscience of lives they destroy. But I am sure he has done exactly what he needed to do for SP.

Hmmm...still disagree with your assessment...first off...JH didn't create the debt, Sycamore did...through some pretty effective financial engineering, like it or not. What JH did was actually to the betterment of the 10,000 or so Staples employees and it created a more manageable debt platform that will allow the company to actually retain more employees. I realize that no matter what I or anyone else say, you will not like JH...is what it is, but at least realize that the problem is rooted in the debt burden the owners created, not JH....his job is to manage it the best he can for the better of the company, and yes that includes both associates and Sycamore

I stand behind my statement bland and ineffective. Not asking to be the CFO. And layoffs every year to pad the profits and keep the company alive is not a financial strategy for a company I don’t have to be a CFO to know that. But good for him for knowing how to push the debt out for a couple more years to give the company time to destroy more lives and still get paid off their backs. Sleep well SLT. Karma you can’t escape.

JH is generally well liked among everybody in finance. You'd be hard-pressed to find serious complaints against him, especially after he helped to save the company last year by pushing those maturities out

Explain why he is ineffective? Can you compare your experience as a CFO and suggest how you would be a more effective leader. Would love to hear your ideas on capital structure and cash flow utilization. Original thought only…..going to google to share back some fancy AI generated phrasing doesn’t count
