So true

I was with the company for a long time. Started in an entry level roll and promoted a couple times over into leadership. Always over 100%. Made sales excellence multiple times. Then bo-m, laid off. Now internal recruiting and hiring managers won’t even respond to my job applications. They have black balled ex employees. They want cheaper people that think in their box. Not outside of it. Yes men or yes woman. They do not care. There really should have been a union started, because while not illegal, from recruiting to hiring leaders and the SLT, it’s very unethical. Like, lawsuit level unethical.
The ruined so many careers and keep good people from getting back to work.
And you are so right. They all act like they love you when they need you and then when they kick you to the curb you are never thought of again by 99.9% of the company. What has transpired since SP acquired the company is an abomination and they get richer and richer. They will bankrupt the company if it doesn’t sell when the dept comes due. There needs to be a class action suit to make them pay for their actions.
@a3 you're absolutely correct. No matter how long you've worked for this ba----dized company, or the value you bring to it, you're treated like a annoying garbage the moment you're informed. Few you've developed relationships with over the years will return your calls. A those feel-good, we're all one family slogans are designed to lull you into a false sense security, while senior leaders laugh all the way to the bank. Staples needs unionization, and badly.
Ageism still reigns supreme at this company. And if you make the bank and are old 👋 bye bye
