I’ve worked myself into the ground trying to prove I’m enough, and for what? To be ignored while others coast by on favoritism? I’m done chasing approval from people who never intended to give it. From now on, let them complain. I won’t be bending over backwards anymore. I’m job hunting now, and until I’m out, they’ll get the bare minimum. If they’re going to pick me apart no matter what, I might as well give them a real reason. My effort isn’t gone though, it’s just being saved for someplace that actually earns it.

Thats the right approach here. There is simply no reward for doing great things. Sit around, collect your pay check and pray that one day you'll be the one getting picked for a RIF.
So the Marketing weasel has weighed in.
Sounds like your just an unlikeable person with poor social skills.
I couldn't agree more. I noticed there are many senior leaders who are just coasting and i know a principal architect who said he stopped writing code few years back but still he is the favourite for many ELT. I am not sure whose a-s he kissed so hard that they still keep such people in the payroll at the expense of others.
Well done and I agree.
