Thread regarding Ford layoffs

They have destroyed an American icon

Hard to watch what has happened to Ford. I saw what good looks like and this isn’t it. Sorry to say but Ford is not on buy list. Never will be again. They have destroyed an American icon.

I fully agree, it's truly disheartening to witness such a steep fall from grace. Well said, and unfortunately spot on, @bv+1jvxg82ey

@ba+1jwx48wgz That list of companies refused to adapt to the new technologies, and paid the price. Ford is not refusing to adapt, it is just Bill Ford's awful management of the company that is causing the implosion of the company. Very different and completely avoidable... if not for the pride of the Ford family.

I think it is just the natural lifecycle of companies. Think of many companies that have gone out of business as technology and society changes: Kodak, Sears, shopping malls, rotary phones, etc. At least Ford will be a slow death and because Elon is insane we don’t have Tesla to worry about any more - until Chinese electric vehicles take over.

As engineers we spend 80% of our time navigating through our internal processes and 20% on actual component/system engineering.
This is a disaster for quality and will not be fixed until that percentage is completely flipped.
