Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

UK Culling has started

Haven't seen any posts about UK (unless I missed them), so just a shout out that it has started here now - just had a meeting/announcement appear in my calendar.
Sector: Hybrid Cloud
Role: Software Developer
Country: UK
Impact / Roles affected: not known yet.
Incidentally, seems good earnings from the company this quarter, and hybrid cloud was up 13%...are we being punished for good performance?

I love it when a plan comes together.

Every time there are layoffs, North America gets hit first as the laws are more favorable for business. Europe goes later since the laws favor the employee more than in N. America. Usually, N. America takes a bigger percentage hit with much shorter notice and less of a severance. Consider yourselves fortunate that you've had more time and usually more severance. And, yes. Some of us are being punished while the top execs have not taken a sizeable, mandatory pay cut for their own mishaps. Good luck.

That is the HPE pattern: poor quarter = layoffs, record quarter = layoffs. It literally doesn't matter if you do your day job or not, nobody cares.

Looks like a longer process here Head Count reduction of 5%, with a period where Voluntary Redundancy will be offered first. If it is not met then Compulsory will start.

Sorry for your impending loss. While revenue was up, the Server and Hybrid Cloud margins were 5.9% and 5.4%, respectively, the lowest in the company.

They can’t figure out how to reduce their discounts, so the only remaining option is to lower expenses in order to hit their profit targets.
