Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I've been thinking about our hiring strategy a lot lately

When we consistently offer bottom-tier wages, we shouldn't be surprised when we get bottom-tier candidates. The constant turnover and performance issues actually cost us more in the long run than paying competitive rates would.

I've seen great team members burn out from constantly training new hires who leave after a few months. Maybe it's time to rethink this approach and invest in fewer but more qualified employees who will actually grow with the company. And stop laying off good employees, we're losing enough to attrition as it is.

Dell was a far more impressive place to work when Sudhir was here. He attracted the top talent from across the industry. Without his insights and mentorship, what do we really have to offer?

problem is Dell is bottom tier.
Wages aside, it still does not offer anything near a tier 1 nor tier 2 company.

Dell is the phat, ugly with pi-ples. You can clear up its skin but you still got the phat and ugly.

MD is an irrelevant bottom feeder. changes need to start at the very top
