They told you this was unlimited...take your time before they rewrite it...get a lawyer and take 4 weeks off

Even if policies say “take what you need,” there are often unspoken expectations about what’s “acceptable.” Always get time-off approvals in writing. Ask for a document that has the rules and expectations within your department. The answer may never come but it is important that you ask.

Flexible Time Off is just a way of eliminating accrued time so the employee doesn’t own anything and eliminating an operating cost. It is all at the companies sufferance. No matter what form of unlimited, it is not…. not really. There are rules, even if they are unwritten.
