Keep in mind that is an old article. Most AWS jobs currently advertised (and there are a ton of them) are 100% remote positions.
Policy details aside, the CSG management team could take some lessons from that message in how to communicate respectfully with the people who are keeping the lights on.
If you're somebody working at Amazon who needs to start going back to the office and you don't want to, or don't agree that it's a good idea, at least you don't read that message and feel like your boss is treating you like you're a misbehaved child. Nor does it seem like the author is completely out of touch with how a workplace functions in the modern world.
If we are talking about billionaire-run companies, return to work is similar to what Elon Musk is proposing
