Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Soon you will learn the truth

Once you are notified of your layoff I recommend a brief interaction with a therapist. You will soon find that the psychiatric community in the areas of Intel sites are well aware of the disfunction of Intels corporate culture and the havoc it can wreak on Intel employees mental health.

@e6 Your great grandparents built a bombed-out world for your grandparents to take a leadership position and do anything they wanted with it.

A kid today who is milking a cow at the age of 12 is more locked into that trajectory than your grandparents were. Open your eyes. Some people’s grandparents, and seemingly, family lineages, are full of worthless people who moved the needle zilch. For generations.

So for the ones who are on your level, WITHOUT family support and prior familial momentum, you’d do well to recognize that you’re sitting next to a bad a-s motherf----rwho made up the ground multiple generations couldn’t cover.

So yeah, we’re strong. Stronger than you, bet. But we’re fu--ing tired of climbing over top of people like you and just want to chill a bit before kicking the bucket.

Many people have been laid off in their lives, sometimes getting another job within 3 weeks. Don't make this a huge issue. You are talented and you are as resilient as your grandparents - right? They went through much worse times.
My mother had to leave home at age 12 to be a maid. On her own at 12!
Her brother became an engineer for IBM and later Memorex in California. He was also an inventor. And a veteran!
You're strong - no whining!

So, you are taking your job into your heart. Deal the job with your brain. Don't be emotional about it. Make sure to learn the foundation. The therapists are therapists.

Most professional jobs fail into the category of bad for your health. Long hours, high stress, tethered to a device so they can reel you in 24/7. Life is more than a job. You will have wasted your life even if you amass a fortune but are in poor health when you get to spend it. Reflect back on how much you have missed so far when you make your future decisions.

100% Truth. Medical doctors say the same thing. Mine told me that Intel would ki-l me one day if I didn't find another job. When I left, I dropped 40 pounds without trying and my blood pressure and cholesterol are almost normal now. It's been 8 months and I am still in recovery... lol!
