Received my dreaded call today while on PTO. Total shocked, my performance and numbers at the top. Guess none of that matters. Haven’t logged in to see my surplus email yet. I do not know how many received their notice today. Normally, hear buzzing, there was nothing. Was told due to down turn in the industry.

I got my notice 1 week ago and there will another one in about 4 months. Our yard was left with 5 techs

I'm not saying what organization but from what I can tell, the layoff was about 5%.

Which departments were surplused?
TPG/ATT were always calling the shots, Our CEO is just a Toady and was never expected to grow the business. Gemini Air? Oh wait, did we just invent a smart TV years after the the introduction of a smart TV?
I too got the surplus notice so you are not alone. It will continue throughout the year from what I was told.
i was told TPG is now calling the shots and the deal will be done much sooner than anticipated. Once they get a detailed look at the budget it will be bloody

It is a turn-by-turn surplus every month, regardless of your performance even you have been at the top, indeed your performance doesn't mean anything when your manger and upper manager hate you or does not like you at all, may others kiss a-s harder.

True. Received a call that I'm safe (this time) but others are not. Was told the reason for the layoff was further deterioration of Directv and need to cut costs. Payers and well wishes to those that are impacted.
