Thread regarding SAP layoffs

thoughts on ariba

my position requires me and my team to collaborate with ariba. it is hardly a good experience. nobody knows what they are supposed to be doing. some interactions have been transparent with aribians blaming the messy interactions on their leadership. i dont think ill get honest feedback bringing it up at work. what is the story with ariba?

Ariba is a product of 25 yrs of development . It has live customers . Respect the product and work done first . Then we can work on moving it to next gen . Management should always respect what was done to know how to make it better . It takes experience to do that . SAP these days does not care about experience . So the experienced ones just collect paycheck and keep quiet .

There are no Ariba leaders left, at least not the leaders that built Ariba. For years now Ariba has been run by Walldorf leaders and now a bunch of leaders who came from outside SAP. And yes, it’s a mess.

I agree with the aribaian that you mentioned. Leadership at Ariba was terrible from the beginning to the end of my career there. They do not listen to anyone. All they do is collect a paycheck and put all responsibility on the staff. I won't say where I am now because it would give me up. All I'll say is not to listen when Ariba leaders tell you that every company is the way that Ariba is. Even SAP jobs are better outside of Ariba.

Don’t blame the remaining colleagues at Ariba. The company has been decimated for years and most people who actually knew the solution have either been let go, told to shut up or left because they couldn’t take it anymore.

They are very nice people. I've lately been seeing lay offs happening in Ariba now. Losing great people.
