Leaving Dell

Has anyone that has recently quit in the US or knows someone in the US, that recently quit, put in a two week notice and then been immediately let go without paying out the remaining two weeks? I heard of that happening to someone and want to know how to prepare for when I am finally lucky enough to leave

they asked my boss where he went. My boss said ZT. They let go they in one hour.
They asked me where I went. I said I am going to school. Then I got two weeks notice. basically, I stayed home and traveled for two weeks.
The point is don;t tell them where you are going to. You never know.

I general, if you work in sales and are going to a competitor, they'll let you go right away.

I gave a 2 week notice and they kept me around for 3 weeks.

I cannot say whether or not the 2 weeks was paid out but several in ISG have given 2 weeks and been dismissed on the spot. The only smart one I am aware of took a two week vacation then used sick days until the vacation was paid out before mentioning he wasn't coming back.

The 2 weeks notice is antiquated.
Give them an end of week notice.
