No more headphones

Great move if the goal is to ki-l morale even more. Really, just great.

@ag If your headphones or earbuds are so loud that you can't hear what's happening around you, then you either already have severe hearing damage or you should have been IQ filtered by HR. A typical person will feel uneasy about not being able to hear people moving and breathing around them and will instinctively turn their volume down. That's just situational awareness that is instinctive to all mammals.

Don't try to tell me there are forklift drivers wearing hoodies and sunglasses while listening to heavy metal through Bose noise canceling headphones. Those are statistical outliers that should be fired and also discarded from any workplace injury incident statistics.

@OP Excellent opportunity to open your own global retail chain and allow headphones. Best of luck!

@OP Sorry, I don’t agree. Statistically, injuries and accidents occur in higher rates when headphones are used. That’s an indisputable fact. And it’s not just associates, it’s customers and vendors, too. A fairly recent incident between a loose three year old and a picker using Apple AirPods is a perfect example. Think how you would feel if you were distracted to the point where you injured that child with your cart?
