Why do I have to repost for my own job?

Because you are a valued and respected member of the Shell family. And they aren't going to give you any other role because all the good ones get allocated out under D.E.I
seriously. these smug a--holes need to quit cutting every six months and do it all once and then let us all move on as needed
i’ve never heard of biannual layoffs for three years but here we are. utterly incompetent LT. not because they’re laying off people and we’re mad about it, but because they can’t even be arsed to do their job and handle it all in one go and so we’re all stuck in slow motion he-l
as long as wael gets his bonus i guess. he just axed gretchen, i wonder who is next. even the senior leaders aren’t safe from captain firepants hanging out at davos
Let Sawan post for my job. I’m over and done with this constant turmoil, pointless disruption and angst.
Remember, it sometimes isn't whether you do your job well, or even if you are making profit. Sometimes the higher-up decision makers just don't want to be in that portion of the business. For example, I've seen them let go of employees who were returning 125% -250% ( conservatively in a lean year, but much higher in a good year) of their tariffed internal charge rate only because their manager was instructed to reduce head count. Now they pay a contractor more to return less profit.
And sometimes two managers are doing the same thing so they combine the group. Rather than picking up front, they go through a song and dance and delay the decision.
Then they pick, only after impacting more folks than they needed to.
@b4 the thing is, I have been doing well. Others that are not up to par, don’t have to repost. I prefer to be ungraded, I’m done with job grades.
DEI
It’s an opportunity to high grade…. And it’s not your personal position, it’s Shell’s.
Fear of losing your job is motivation. Ergo, repost to your own job.
@OP Because Shell is a passive/aggressive place. I had to repost twice- third time I took the package.
They post your job so you have to repost, so they can select someone else and create a situation where you become redundant. Evil managers do this. Good leaders do not.
Plus, they can dangle the position just out of reach and see if they can get extra work out of you. Remember supervisors and managers are just people and half of them are evil an awful.
