Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Failure of leadership

But make no mistake, this was a failure of leadership from the top down. Just awful, terrible leadership with no clear path to success. Just a "stoke the fires of competition and see who produces".

Ford is in over their heads in this new world of transportation. And they will need to break the hold of the Ford family, and fire every senior leader with smart replacements. Or it's bankruptcy.

I don't see the Ford family changing things enough to avoid the inevitable.

@br+1jwaze9tg makes an excellent point.

Go ahead. Finish..."needed ... "fresh" creative, innovative, young workers" that have never worked through needless long-term cycles of executive decision failures in the automotive industry", AKA completely naive and CLUELESS.

@d2+1jwebsa1p They will recognize blaming everyone on recalls - 15% on bonuses who had nothing to do with it ALL , and deceiving on the next year bonus, if you can even make there "GSRs".

I’ll tell you, we might have ‘toxic’ performance culture, but the blue square company tends to appreciate and recognize worker efforts throughout the year a lot more than I see here. Of course it’s department dependent, idk your function, but worth a shot.

@c9+1jwebsa1p Good luck with another role. I also got some screening interviews. By the way, you can update and pattern your work at another company , so Ford can never implement it again.

Guys, The job market is tough and it's time to focus and pursue the next opportunity. Typing here does not help emotionally to focus. Forget this sh-3--tyy Ford,. I've already had several interviews lined up. Ford was a major disappointment as they lost a strong engineer. Replacing me will likely cost them over $130K and take at least eight months for someone new to catch up to the work I was doing. So, Doggy's actions were again shortsighted and LL4 / LL5 stubbed me into my back. I now bring my innovation and dedication to Ford’s major competitors, where my work will be truly valued. They’ve shown strong interest in the same kind of work I was doing at Ford. There are still some good people at Ford who I will miss. They helped me to grow... and retire soon.

If you want to destroy everything as part of the revolution then is it leadership failure or is it leadership succeeding with creating a controlled collapse of the system?

Glad you liked this. I'm the "It's coming...." Guy. And I wrote this comment the OP quoted.

I have insight into upper-management. And that's why I can share when it's coming.... And when leadership has failed.

There will be more carnage related to the FNV4 failure. There will be bloodletting at the senior management level. It's coming....

Ford has ruthlessly booted out experienced, talented employees to replace them with cheap labor from Brazil, Mexico, India, and beyond. They’ve discarded older engineers who could have passed on critical knowledge and mentorship to the new generation. Instead, they’ve brought in a bunch of arrogant, entitled young engineers who believe they're smarter than their predecessors. Their only goal seems to be climbing the corporate ladder as quickly as possible, without any respect for the experience and wisdom that built Ford in the first place.

A company with more chiefs than Indians doesn't last long.

Correct. This is why Ford leadership devised the Ford+ Transformation Plan, for those not in the know, Ford+ has reworked the company top to bottom in methods, talent, resources, process, and leadership to deliver the services and products that future mobility demands. It is why we have Model e at the helm of the company's path forward.

Immorality at its core here, LL4/LL5s will keep replying bla blah until they get axed without any reasons. I want to see their beautiful mugs. How will you sing your song then? Will you say the cuts were needed by Ford ?

Ford let senior folks go because they cost the company too much money (pension, healthcare, salary). Deemed them "antiquated"...needed "fresh" creative, innovative, young workers. Great thought with the exception of not looking at the way Ford was doing business! They changed the employees, but not the company.

For years, people on this site have been saying Ford will be bankrupt 'soon'.

Ford is still one of the most successful companies on earth and has been going strong for a century.

Love em or hate em, they're going to keep going for another century.

If you're unhappy hear - focus your efforts on finding someplace where you'll be happier to work.

It's over. The company is finished. They laid off all productive workers who delivered and kept it going. Many good engineers already left themselves. Now the sh-=it chatbots with left who do not contribute to anything and got promoted to LL5 and LL4 working on FNV4.
Who gave them their medals and for what ???? They never went to any war, never delivered anything, no leadership and no respect.
