Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

What's the deal with Dell missing earnings?

I mean, how do you miss earnings? It's not a bus! You don't just show up late and go, "Oh no, the profits left without us!"

And now they’re laying people off...
"Sorry Bob, we didn’t make enough money, so we're gonna need you to stop making money too."

Dell says it’s part of a strategic restructuring.
Yeah, the strategy is: “Let’s restructure everyone right out the door!”

When we "miss earnings" that's code for Dell projecting to make $20 million and only making $10 million then treating that like we lost $10 million then saying we need to increase efficiency (code for layoffs) to recoup the imaginary loss.

From what I hear we are selling stuff at cost just to keep contracts. That's why they push metrics like "record units moved" instead of "profit".

Execs getting RSUs can’t cover the taxes on the vestings lately much less view the grants as “incentive”.

Share price tanking on the day earnings are due AGAIN... 3 times in a row now.

Great confidence in the company out there. Great confidence.
