Why post jobs if you're not actually hiring?

I’ve lost count of how many jobs I’ve applied to with no response. Companies post openings constantly, but it feels like half of them aren’t even real. If they’re not actually hiring, why waste everyone’s time with the listings? It’s exhausting putting in effort just to get radio silence. At this point, I don’t know what to believe anymore.

OP…. Why post to this site if this is a legitimate question? Do some searches there are plenty of articles from reputable sources discussing this topic. Coming here and asking is just feeding the trolls.

Job posting is scam these days with below aims:

  1. Collector profile, copy and paste by someone else name and submit again so someone else get that job using ur data.
  1. They post to see if any one is working on what projects at competitors so they can do same by stealing idea.
  1. They just Target some folks using fake marketing strategy. They post two job one with director title and another with PM title. They want to see what job title and wage bare willing to accept. It doesn’t mean they want to give u that job. After knowing ur desire job title and wage, squeezing game start with lower title and lower wage posted so they can depress wages.
  1. Offshore is building US citizens and temp work visa folks database which is used for many other purposes. Let’s say u file car insurance claim, they will validate involved parties and how much risk it will carry based on immigration status. That will help them determine settlement amount. This database is used across the board for many reasons. Purpose is not to hire but steal ur personal information in the name of recruiting.

In USA hiring is one way game. Companies don’t have to disclose anything but they can take it DNA sample too by posting fake job.

Same here. I have a folder on my machine where I store screenshots of the rejections whenever I need the reminder that I’m a worthless piece of $hit. The rejections flow in steady enough that I don’t need the reminder, though.

What. A. Loser. :-(

The lawyers have to show they posted a job listing and found no qualified applicants in order to have their H1B visa application approved.
