Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

35% will be laid off, as I heard off. Same package as 2024 but no early retirement.

Layoffs are going to be organization and project based. Some will bet completely zapped (100% layoffs), and other's might actually be growing (such as AI). What is certain is that non-engineering, and IFS/TMG will take disproportionate cuts due to their limited contributions to getting product out the door or just plain bloated.

@Op, English only please. If you can't communicate, nobody will listen. If you can't write complete sentences or can't spell words, then hint... ask AI. It probably will be taking your job soon enough with your language level.

There can’t be 21% managers, so whole groups for the chop I reckon

@b4 you got a video update... that should tell you everything. Clearly they didn't want to listen to any questions or feedback. You are on your own.

Not even winning employee of the month will save you.

@c8+1 This has been described in detail in other posts.

They did (an above average) rewards prior to the headcount action to try to limit volunteers and attrition.

Rewards is happening at the same time as always, but offered a chance to help with retention of those 'perceived' to be above average contributors.

HR has their reasons for offering VSP, but managers would rather there be no VSP.

They want to control who stays and who does not.

@c5

Why would they give raises if they’re just going to layoff?

And also it’s been stated that there was no severance package this time around. Unless what they meant was early retirement.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It is not going to be consistent across the company. If you are working on what is considered a core function cuts will be lower but if you are working on something that Intel plans on not doing anymore entire groups will be let go. This will be different than previous layoffs.

Silence in my area. Video update our cuts weren’t as bad as others, but no baseline, target, any point of reference at all.

Heard numbers from all sides and nothing below 21%.

35% is possible, with entire project teams gone.
